This is Elizabeth Long FITZGERALD. She died awfully young, and a
mere seven months after her husband? Grief? Self-afflicted?
Disease?

Here is what had to follow --

The sons were put into the guardianship of Laurence Rees
FITZGERALD (who became the New York partner of William Brisbane
DICK - the two grew up together and went to NY and founded a
famous editing business). $1600 was sought - perhaps for
expenses, or perhaps as an assistance to the young ones, aged
16 and 17. This would appear to indicate to me that Laurence
likely had a wife. If he had not, I would suspect it to be
more likely the boys would have been turned over to a sibling
of Laurence's who *was* married.

Soon, I hope to hear more from Dave Ward in connection with our
family members. I hope someone on list at some point proves
to be a family member!
