Have absolutely no clue whether there is a connection to Capt. JAMES
ABERCROMBIE.

My 3 great grandmother ERNESTINE or ERNESTINA ABERCROMBIE was b. 1796
Pennsylvania - and married JOHN FIELD also b. Pennsylvania about 1790,
at least 2 of their children were b. in Philadelphia CHARLES J. FIELD b.
about 1734 Philadelphia (according to his daughter's death certificate) and
THEODORE J. FIELD's baptismal record which I list below. According to the 1870
census where I found ERNESTINE living as a widow her father was foreign born.
