My guess would be to if you already checked the city directories, then you could
check the 1920 Census & 1930 Census, it would give you an idea of what was
in the neighborhood, then you could check property deed records and it will let
you know who owned the business, once you find out who owned the business,
you can check that person out, perhaps they lived elsewhere then the Arch
street address, then you could check for wills & administrations, as perhaps
they might give further details of the business, then you can check with License
& Inspections for a zoning history of the building, then you could check the
Philadelphia Historical Commission to see if they have any old photographs of
the place, then sort out what you got, post it, and ask again....
