I am seeking the descendants of Henry DITTMER. He was born in Germany in November, 1845, and died in Philadelphia between 1920 and 1930. After emigrating to this country 1857-1860, he lived in Chesapeake City, MD, until about 1885. He spent the remainder of his life in Philadelphia. Henry was the father of 8 children - Harry J., Mary Elizabeth, William M., Edna, Caroline L., Joseph Louis, Edward F., and Lillian E. Henry's wife is Caroline Strites/Strick. She was also born in Germany. They were married 26 Dec 1871, in Chesapeake City, MD. Henry's father was George (Georg) DITTMER.

The surname is variously spelled DITTMER, DITTMAR, DETTMAR, DITMORE, DETMORE, etc.
