Crescentville - between Godfrey Ave. and Comly St., the other direction was
between the railroad tracks separating Montgomery Co. and down to Tabor Rd.
There was an old Indian settlement on the land off of Tabor Rd. before the
Navy Depot was buillt during WW2. Doubt anything of that previous history
was saved. Sad, not to have saved the American Indian culture. I played
there
as a kid - it was a community playground before the Navy Depot. Later, the
city
built the Lawncrest Community Center where across the street we had WW2
victory gardens.
I rode the trolley to Olney High School - a fine school in those days.
