The following link was sent to the Quebec-Research mailing list. The
site has a registry composed of records from 4 databases:

Buried in American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC) overseas military
cemeteries.
Memorialized on ABMC Tablets of the Missing.
Listed on official War and Navy Department Killed in Service rosters now
held by the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).
Honored by public enrollment in the Registry of Remembrances.

A quick search just using the surname Picard found about 70 names
(includes Picardi, Picardo, and Picardy, too). A few are duplicates.
Have yet tried all the variants.

If you don't find your WWII veteran listed at the site, you can add them
to the Registry of Remembrances. And it's not just for veterans of the
War. Anyone who helped on the home front can be honored too... any
"Rosie the Rivitors" out there who were Picards?

The new WW 2 Memorial in Washington D.C. will be unveiled tomorrow. There is
a web site, with search engine. I was able to find details regarding some of
my relatives that were new to me.
