If you prefer mailing lists to newsgroups, subscribe to
. It is a mirror of
soc.genealogy.medieval. There are archives of that mailing list (and thus
newsgroup) on RootsWeb going back to the beginning of the newsgroup in
1995. See
http://searches2.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl for the searchable
archives.

I will agree wholeheartedly that using that list/newsgroup is
worthwhile. Be prepared to just bypass one or two people who like to stir
things up, but be aware that even those people are well-versed on the
topic. Some real experts hang out there.
