4 DIE, FOUR INJURED IN COLLISION
ATLANTA, Ga., Dec. 30 . - Four dining car employes were killed and four
others were injured in the
wreck on the Southern Railway at Rockmart, Georgia, Friday, when the Ponce De
Leon special collided with the Royal Palm Special killing twenty in all, and
injuring nearly 100. The dead engineer was blamed for the tragedy, it being
claimed that he failed to obey a signal to sidetrack.
The race dead are R. O. Horne, Robert Richardson, William Palmer and
William Hugley, all of Chattanooga. The race injured were William Hubert, a
waiter; R. G. Munn of Chattanooga, a waiter; John Hale
of Memphis; U. Robinson, a porter of Memphis.
