Hi all,
I have been given a few names for places of my ancestors birth. These were
given to me over 25 years ago and I am trying to establish their locality,
polish spellings and area of the time period. This would be mid 1800's.
There has been discrepancies whether these were in Poland or Austria.
1. Kornekton
2. Pszeworsk
3. Ostrov
4. Kapana
5. Zowana

I would appreciate any information on these places and/or names of books or
sites that may be helpful.

Also I am researching the surname Posterski, Pastryski who originated from
Poland. Would like to find the meaning of this surname. It does not seem
to be a common name even today and wonder if anyone else is researching the
same.
