For those in or near Western Pennsylvania, or for those with roots in this
area a recent brochure from the Westmoreland County Community College has
some points of interest.
April 21 Father Joseph Sredzinski will present "History of the Founding of
81 Polish Roman Catholic Churches in Western PA". He has written a book,
"They Came-They Gave". The presentation will focus on settlement patterns
of Polish pioneers from 1889 to 1929.
April 14 Father Joseph Kapura will present "History of Early Slovaks in
Westmoreland County". His presentation will "take into account typical
'patchtown' life and the role of the church in the formation of a community".
April 24 Rosemary Chorzempa will present "Tracing Your Polish Roots"
The college is in Youngwood, PA, and their telephone is 724 925-4204.
