This in regard to Adam Szczygiel who according to his State of Michigan
Declaration of Intention papers arrived in New York on the 15th day of May
1905. Would his Naturalization papers give me any more information? If so I
could you use the micro film number for the year 1913 for Detroit, Michigan
at the Family History Center.
I did look at the arrival records for 1902-1943 and did not find Adam
Szczygiel any where.
I like the idea of the city Gunow, south of Pinczow. Are there any micro
films for baptism records for that area? Adam was from Poland (Russia).
Adam parents were Joseph and Mary.
To the best of my knowledge, None of the children of Adam had birth
certificates. Some of these children are still living. They were all
Catholic. Some of the children that I know of were baptized at St. Andrew,
Detroit, MI.
Someone named a vessel name Vanderland that arrived on May 16, 1905.
Where can I look at a passenger list for that ship?
Also there was a ship name Lituania that arrived in 1907. Are there
passenger lists for that ship? If yes, how would I go about getting those
records? I am doing my research through the Family History Center here in
Jacksonville, FL.
I would like to thank everyone for their quick and wonderful responses.
Jackie
