Jan, I have a Rydzewska....my ggrandmother's maiden name. I notice this is
your grandmother's middle (maiden?) name. I know Rydzewska is not uncommon,
but am taking a stab at a connection. My family is from Pennsylvania, but I
know nothing about her. Do you have much info on your grandmother in the
Rydzewska direction?

My grandmother's [teresia Rydzewska Filipowicz] mother was a Karolina
Sokolowska who was born abt. 1850 and lived at Cyprki near lomza Poland.
Could there be a connection with your Sokolowski?
