It seems that know one knows for sure. Hopefully, though, through time it
will be forgotten whatever it is?

I would just like to thank everyone on the list who responded to this
message on and off list. I found each response very interesting. But,
there doesn't seem to be any pat answers. I guess people will be people and
there is nothing we can do about that. I for one intend to let my family
know that there is no shame in having Polish blood.
I for one am grateful.
