I really had a terrific time in POLAND. It is a wonderful country. We should
be so proud that this is where are roots are. Funny you should mention your
NON-Polish husband. My Mom is NON-Polish and she absolutely loved Poland
too. We decided to make her an "honorary" Polock for the trip!

There were ten of us on the tour- American cousins who had never met each
other before. So not only did we get to meet our Polish cousins but we got
to know our American cousins as well. My American cousin, Carol, put this
personalized tour together. (I found her through genealogy too- she lives in
Connecticut.) Carol goes to Poland every summer and speaks the language
fluently. Her friend Grzegorz lives in a small village outside of Krakow.
Grzegorz was our tour guide as well.

Communicating with our Polish cousins was difficult at times. Of course,
Cousin Carol and Grzegorz were translators. However we found that the
younger generation of cousins -- those in their teens -- could speak some
English. It was the teenagers who translated for their parents. Of course, a
smile on everyone's face was easy enough to translate!
