Debbie,

My grandmother always told the story of coming the America by herself at age
14 to come live with an Aunt. I have found, who I believe is my grandmother
in a ship manifest for the Neckar, which arrived from Bremen Germany on
4/30/03. There is a Maryanna Piotrowska (on her naturalization she indicated
Marya), which arrived on the Neckar from Bremen Germany on 4/30/03, who
indicated her home as Lipnica, Poland. She is actually listed twice on the
manifest, once as age 11, and a second time as age 13). All matches with
information on her Petition for Naturalization, other than the fact that she
indicated that she arrived on 5/1 on the Dergross Kurfurst (there was no
ship by that name arriving on that date). I cannot find that she was
traveling with anyone, and the markings look like she was detained. However,
I can't find her name on the list at the end of the manifest for detained
individuals. Therefore, I am to believe that she was travelling alone, as
she always stated to us.

Question: Although there is no Dergross Kurfurst that arrived on 5/1, I
wanted to try and access all other manifests for this ship on dates close to
that date. I have tried to find a way to access manifests for other ships
that arrived on other dates, but haven't seemed to find a way.Is there a way
to do this on line if I have the ship name and date of arrival of the ship?
