Lori,
I checked the _Auschwitz Death Books_.
As I suspected, the only other information listed are the record
identification numbers. Using these numbers when you write to the museum
archives will speed up the search process and make it easier for them to
locate the records in question.
Jo~zef Szczotka #11786/1943
Karolina Szczotka #32247/1943

There was another Szczotka listed in the supplement which is mostly
Roma, or gypsies. I'm _not_ suggesting the following person is a gypsy.

Piotr Szczotka, born June 24, 1904 in Ujsoly, old woj. Bielsko-Bial~a,
died March 29, 1943. Record book: StUrk. 4(38)

St.Urk. indicates the museum has a death certificate for Piotr.
Ujsoly is about 10 km south of Milo~wka and it is a parish.

Although the museum archives was able to come up with over 80,000 names
that is but a small fraction of the total number of victims at
Auschwitz.

I would think it is also possible that photographs are available. Many
photographs of prisoners survived the Nazi's attempt to destroy evidence
and many are hung on the barracks walls. Don't get your hopes up
(somehow that doesn't seem right to say considering the topic) but it is
a possibility.

I think there was someone else on this list who also contacted the
museum archives, besides Alan, with favorable results. Unfortunately, I
don't remember who it was.
