Hi Debbie and all,

This "ring string" has just reminded me of my own adventures. Born in 1941,
I am of Irish/Polish descent, and I must have had a ring, because my mother
has told me that I pushed one up my nose, and on another occasion swallowed
it. I have only very vague recollections of the swallowing episode; but I
was a bit older, perhaps 3 yrs. old. I haven't thought of that in years.

I think the baby ring custom was something that could be found in
