My family's last name is Pallas. I have been able to do some research in Maszewo, etc. The earliest record I have to date is from 1803. The father Johann Pallas indicates he was from Schröttersburg, according to the birth record for his daughter, Ewa.. The mother's name is also Ewa (Muller). I believe they were not Polish, as in the Polish language, they do not use double consonants. I believe they were German. Can anyone tell me where most people emigrated from to Schröttersburg? I have FHC films on order for Schröttersburg, but am hoping to get a better knowledge of from where many came from originally.
