Subject: [POLICE-UK] Constable in Scotland

My mothers Great-Grandfather was John "Jock" McCallum. He was born in
Lanark, Lanarkshire, 6/29/1836 and died and was buried in Lanark as well. He
was married three times and had 17 (yes 17!) children over the three wives.
When married to his first wife, Margaret Glaister he had at least one child,
Sarah on 12-15-1860, while stationed in Dublin, Ireland as a constable. With
his third wife, Ann McDougal, he had a child, Dougal in 1884 in the county
jail at Airdrie. Jock is buried at the Lanark central cemetery.
Now that sounds like a lot of data, and it is except we really need to know
more about Jocks second marriage and about his parents, William McCallum and
Sarah Foster. A start might be learning more about his police career.
Can anyone help?
