Subject: [POSEN-L] Sylvester

I have no formal documents (birth or death certificates) However; census
records show my GGGrandfather, Charles A. Sylvester, to be born in Oster
Posen, Prussia in 1807 and his father's name listed as Joseph K. Sylvester.
Would anyone out there be able to suggest a direction for my efforts in
substantiating these facts and further researching my lines? Any help is
greatly appreciated.
