Reuben:
You have a handful, but I hope I can help a little. First of all, you
need to go down to a local AAA travel office and get a map of Poland.
Their "Germany, Poland, Czech & Slovak Republics" map is a good one for
today's cross references. And the price is right at about $3.00 for
members. The information below comes from Charles M. Hall's "Prussia:
The Atlantic Bridge to Germany Vol VIII." I got it from Origins, 4327
Milton Ave, Janesville, WI 53546; 608-757-2777 (book #317) for $25.00. A
very good investment.
-Schmilowo was located in Zempelburg Kreis (now Sepolno Krajenske,
Poland) in West Preussen.
-Grabionna was located in Wirsitz Kreis (now Wyrzysk, Poland) in Posen
(on the northern border to W.Prussia), south to southwest of Vandsburg.
-Camminer (now Kamien-Pomorski) was located in Cammin Kreis on the
coast in Pomerania. That's about 190-200 km west of Sepolno Kraj. A
better bet was that it may have been Kamin, also in Zempelburg Kreis,
just north of Vandsburg.
-No sign of a Garrath.

received an indication that the town Schmilowe was east of Vansburg. My
document says that the town/village of Garrath was also associated with
Schmilowe. I do not see that town on my 1938 version of Pommeranian map
which includes this region of West Prussia. Does someone have an older
map that might show Garrath. WP gaz. does not help. I have not checked
Myers yet so that is an option.

have lists these towns in Camminer Kreises and that fits with Schmilowe
and Vansburg area. But the Kreis Amt is listed as Grabionne. This
continues to confuse me because I find no Grabionne. This must be an
older spelling of this town in that area that has shifted its name. I
would expect this town to be more prominent if it was a Kreis Amt town.
Can someone clarify what this Grabionne in the area of Camm/Kamm, WP
might be on the 1938 Pommeranian map??
