The WSPs (it stands for "Web Site Posting") do involve a form. As you could
readily tell from the first line of each posting. When researchers visit
the Posen-L web site (which is referred to at the bottom of every post
distributed by the server), they can fill out a form which eventually
results in the creation of a web page for them at Posen-L. It also puts
their surnames into the Surname list and gives them the option to have this
info posted to the list. You do not have to be a subscriber or to even stay
subscribed. Once the info makes it onto the web site, it will be there
until I receive a request to remove it. Someday, this process will be more
automatic. At this point, the submissions pile up until I get around to
processing them. This weekend, I got around to posting most of the backlog
to the list. I take some time to format the information in a standardized
way to make it easier to skim through, including a subject line that also
allows busy people to scan for possible matches. I was able to post all but
about five subsmissions this week. It may be a month or more before I do
the next batch. I can't predict when I will be able to process the
information and update the web site pages or Surname list.
