Subject: [POSEN] Citurs/Zitrosz/Ziturs?--Surname Help
Date: Mon, 1 Nov 1999 13:23:08 EST

We are trying to figure out the original name of the Citurs family. It has
been spelled Ziturs, Zitrosz. Said to be German but recently found a
Polish-language bible that belonged to the patriarch. The family did attend
German Lutheran Church in Iowa, married into German families. One relative
remembers a great-grandma writing the name and said it had ten or 11 letters
with z's at both ends. Any suggestions? Thanks. Francha of Denver
