I know that Mary Popovich did not write al etter that was sent to Deb. The
letter was writen by a Leon Xavier Zawack. The letter was very informitive
about learning Polish and it briught up a few good points on why younger
people can learn a language fast than older people. I must agree with him on
that point. I do disagree with Mr. Zawack that it was a discrace that our
ancestors did not teach us-our parents the Polish language. Mr. Zawack
forgets or does not know that many of our ancestors felt that they where in
the America and that thier children should learn the langage of thier new
home. This not only is true ( not 100% of the time) in many other groups
that came to our shores. I know that my wifes grandparents did that same with
thier children and they are from Sicily.
