Thanks to those of you who gave me information about the probable German of my ggreatgrandparents' marriage certificate. Now, I have another question from it.

The certificate says that Wilhelmine Do"ge came from Aviela. So far, all I have found is that it is in Kr Wirsize, but I haven't been able to find it on a map. Does anyone know what its Polish name is, where it is located and what kind of place it was?

Also, would it be common among the German Lutherans at that time (1852) for a couple to be married in the groom's church rather than the bride's?
