Subject: [POSEN] First cousin, second cousin etc.

Ok, here is a question for our German listers. When I was in Germany in May
I learned that there is no such classification like "first cousin, second
cousin, or once removed etc." in German. You simply say "great cousin" for
anyone after your first cousin. Is this true? Or do German genealogists use
such classifications? I know many people here in the US don't know what a
first cousin, second cousin are let alone the "once removed" part. Just
wondering.
Thanks for any responses,
Paul
