Hello Jerry,

Arrendator comes form Latin. It means the lease holder. In the
context of Posen, it means to leaseholder of an estate. When the
area was under Polish rule these leaseholders often had police and
judicial powers and were often not well liked by the peasants that
worked on the estates.

What you read as loofs weiber should be "loosse Weiber" or "loss"
(with ess-tzet). This didn't mean that these women wer "loose" but
rather that they had no official employment (Gewerbe) or status
(Stand).
