Subject: [POSEN] what type of worker and the estate.
Date: Mon, 21 Oct 2002 14:09:15 EDT

My family of Steinkes lived on Estate in eastern Prussia 1872 before coming
to USA. It is said that one was a foreman and one was a horseshoer. It didn't
say what other family members did. What would the German word be for these?
And what type of Estate could this be. Does anyone know if the wife's or
child could have been workers to. Dose it make a difference as to the type of
work one did to there living condition to. Is there a web page to go to find
out estate life and the workers life and living condition in eastern
Prussia around that time. And is there a place to go and see just how many
estate there were in eastern Prussia at that time thanks ahead of time
