Dear Susan,
One place I can recommend is the MUZEUM KULTURY LODOWEJ (no doubt I've
missed some diacriticals on that title but I'm trying to read a postcard)
It is perhaps an hour west of Bydgoszcz near OSIEK. It is an open air museum
where they have brought in old farm houses, windmills and other buildings
from Pommern and Posen and restored them. A very good way to see how our
ancestors lived. There are two or three huge windmills, several farmsteads
and some other buildings. You can go in virtually all of the buildings and
see them set up with furniture and even mannequins wearing period costumes.
One house is set up for Easter another for Christmas etc. A very nice
museum.
