Dear James,

Thank you very much for publishing the text about Rostau/Rostrzebowo and Kunkels living there. All that is really interesting for me and I am sure, for Kerstin Hartfiel, who is also one of the listers. She knows everything about Rostau.

Let me add some remarks to that:
- a detailed history of Rostau and Rostauer Kunkels have been written and published by (mentioned in the article) Albert/Wojciech Kunkel in Deutsche Wissenschaftlische Zeitschrift fuer Polen. I have this as a computer Word file (in German) and may send it to you or anybody interested from the List.
- the descendance of Rostauer Kunkels from the alchimist Johann Kunkel von Loewenstern is a nice legend, but only a legend. The founder of the stem, George Kunkel, who in 1770 bought one part of the Rostau estate and, how to say, married to the second one, was a son of Christoph Kunkel of Jankendorf and Christina, born Jeske, and the grandson of Martin Kunkel, mayor (Schulze) of Althuette/Sokolowo and Catherine born Busse. So they were Posen natives, not newcomers.
- the last of Albert's line, Erika marr.Koettgen was a sister of Heinz, not of Heinz's wife Erika, as I know. Its typing error I suppose.

Thank you again, and wish you all the best.

Robert M.Kunkel, Warsaw PL
