Gerd: I wonder if your correspondent is confusing Frederick II
(Frederick the Great, King of Prussia 1712-1786) and Frederick III,
Emperor of the German Empire (Emperor 1888 between Wilhelm I and Wilhelm
II). It could be cleared up easily if you can get dates from him.
