I have records from Scharmbeck in GERM that have illigitimate births.

The father is usually named in bp records. They are in a different section
of bp called illegitimate baptisms.

I have one in which they do not know name of father at birth so they named
two guys. By the time of confirmation they had just one father of the child. I
guess child looked like father.

Many times the parents of the male are witnesses to bp.

Below is the bp record of mother of Johann Hinrich Eichholz/Tweitmann

Besides Johann Hinrich she had another child by the same father named Herman.
I do not know why they were not married.
