Mary: Family Tree Maker is actually developed by Genealogy.com and
published by Broderbund software company. If you look on the
Genealogy.com site, you will see that all information is copyrighted by
MyFamily.com, Inc., which also holds the Ancestry.com copyrights. In
some way, and I don't know exactly how, they are affiliated with the LDS
Family History Center, which has done much indexing of these public
records, so I believe the indexes were compiled by their volunteers.
Many of the NARA records are chronological, as you probably know.
What NARA probably needs is the series, film number and list
identification number from your cd rom as well as any other information
they ask for.
