Well, I certainly did an EXCELLENT job of writing today. Groan. I don't
even want to reread the original ...
I think the Posen reference in Milwaukee demonstrates that the Surdyks are
probably from Posen. I once found another website showing that even today,
a large group of Surdyks can be found in Poznan. The family letter that I
have that discusses Milwaukee cousins may refer to this family as Frank's
cousins. I tried in Milwaukee to connect Frank to the family and went
through all early death, birth, and marriage records and could not find a
way to get in. Frank is sort of by himself in Babcock--with all those kids
and no wife?
In order to find the marriage and death records for Frank's other children,
besides Joseph, I would need to write to several different counties and need
to narrow the dates. I know clerks cannot look in general for the marriage
of Stephen Surdyk of Kalamazoo, Michigan. I hoped by posting that on some
day in the future, someone might recognize Steve or George or the women and
let me know the approximate marriage dates or death dates. In any of those
records could be the name of Frank's wife.
Thanks for all help. Perhaps having just years of 1945 and 1948 would be
specific enough for ordering death records.
Dianne
