it has been quite some time since i requested anything having to do with
family history. i do recall that once i had to send a copy of my driver's
license but can't recall the particulars.
this particular practice does seems an invasion of privacy.
however, the government has access to lots more than our photos.
and
personally, i can find out quite a bit about you by accessing a variety of
web sites and paying a small fee. maybe that's why it is called the
information highway. (:
we really have very little privacy in the 21st century.
