Marilyn,
I have the surname Zamzow and in the Posen records I've seen it spelled
Zamsow and Zamson... there may be a connection. Do you know what area of
Posen? Mine are in the Kreis Filehne and Kreis Czarnikau area, with likely
some spill over into Kreis Deutsch Krone. I'm going to Salt Lake City on
Thursday this week to do some more digging... I visited these areas last
August and had a German researcher friend look in the Archives in Pila
(Schneidemhl) and we've found some good data. The immigrants from these
lines ended up in Wisconsin, in the 1850's & 1860's. Let me know if you
want to compare notes. ;-)
