I don't have any specifics, but I seem to remember that during the
Counter-Reformation, Protestants were required to register their events at
the local Catholic church. Depending on the local dynamics/personalities,
some were even compelled to perform services, pay church tax and attend
against their will. In other times/places, the Protestants were able to
continue to practice their faith virtually unhindered, and in a few places
to even keep their church buildings. Most buildings were either confiscated
or destroyed.

I don't know how church support differed from Catholics at different times.
It was common for Catholics to be assessed church taxes as well as their
estate labor days and land rents, if any.
