There's a word in a church record here that appears to be the name of a
city or town-- "Polarke, Russland." I've looked at the records
repeatedly. The pastor's handwriting is perfect. There's no mistaking
that he wrote exactly that. Since no such place seems to have existed,
and the family seems to have been from Russian Poland, I'm wondering if
maybe that's the Platt version of "Polish Russia" ???????????
