Susan,

I feel confident that Diana has correctly identified your town. I've
updated the article that she referred to, and the Josephowo parish article
as well, mostly added the same map to both articles, but also formally
confirmed that as far as we know, no records of the Protestanct
(Evengelical) church have survived. The civil records (Standesamt Kirchlich
Palendzie) appear to have survived, but only in the archives, no films.
They cover dates later than the births you mention, but might have
something for relatives (younger siblings?, deaths marriage of cousins,
aunts, uncles, grandparents?).
