Betreff: Photos from Poland
I have just viewed the beautiful photos that you recommended
on the Posen web site. I wondered if you could be of any
assistance to me in learning more about the village in
Brandenburg that my grandmother Rosalie Sohr Gramse came from.
We were able to visit it in 2004 and were amazed to find a
very tall fortified bell tower that we were told was probably
about 500 years old. We had visited in Poland before and
never saw such a bell tower - it was attached to the church
but could have been used as defense. The German name of the
village was Zettitz. The Polish name is now Czetowice.
It is just north of Krosno Odrzanskie. We did photograph that
church tower and other villages and had hoped to find some
church records.

Unfortunately, there does not seem to be an excellent web for
Brandenburg as there is for Posen which has taught us so much.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Evelyn Gramse White,

Dear Evelyn,
I do not do any research in Zettitz, but someone else from the
Posen list might do that. In any case there are participants
who are also on the (East) Brandenburg list who may be able to
help you.
Most cordial regards from Luxembourg
