When we traveled to Poland in 2002, I took Kasia, our tour guide, an album of the new quarter collection by U.S. states with all those that were available at that time. Someone told me that she collects U.S. coins.

When she took us to meet with my extended family in Lubon just outside Poznan, I asked her what to take to the family as a gift. For the lady of the house she suggested a bouquet of fresh flowers which we bought at an open air market. I also bought some chocolate candy for the entire family.
