Subject: Rowan/Rowen surname

It is my understanding that there was at least one Rowan/Rowen who went to Brittany from Powys several centuries ago. Is there anyone who can fill me in on something of that history? Are there any living in Wales of that surname today who might help? Thanks.
I climbed to the top of Harlech Castle a few years ago, but did not hear "Men of Harlech" being sung.
