Subject: re family Ap Rhys (PRICE)

Greetings all on this list - I am new to Wales research so
really really need some help.
I have now taken my Price family from Australia and Channel
Islands mid 1600's back to a Thomas Price m 1670 in
Guernsey Channel Islands to the family of Ap Rhys, of
Carnarvon Wales - can anyone please tell me the meaning of
"Ap Rhys" and where do I find the best place for a mailing
list etc. (Several listed but I cannot find the best for
Carnarvon area).
It appears that Thomas Price arrived in Guernsey Channel
Islands with a Tutor/Companion and founded this branch of
the family - I would like to see where "Wales" will take
me.(Wonder if he was SENT or had itchy feet).
He had with him and still in the family a silver seal with
Arms, Crest and Motto the device from the Ancient Welsh
Family of "Ap Rhys" Carvarvon Wales. (which I believe goes
back many generations in Wales).
Kind regards Ronnie Bates
All suggestions gratefully accepted.
