Hello listers!
Cefnllys is partly named for the fact that it was once the home to Cefnllys castle and had also in Roman times been a garrison along with Castell Collen and Grug yr Egre. The castle was originally 3 such buildings erected first by Roger Mortimer and then by his successors. It was from this that the Llys
may have been coined although there was also an Iron Age rampart and settlement on the site which may also provide the origin for that term.

As for Bach y Graig, I believe it was absorbed into the Pump House Hotel when enlargements were made in the latter 1800's. If you visit the present Powys County Council HQ, the site can be seen from the reception foyer.
