Re: Cannon, Wales
Dear Glenda R. Wilson
There is a farm named Cannon in the parish of Llanerfyl, Montgomeryshire.

Re: EVANS/HAMER & not forgetting Rose Cottages
Dear Mary Paton
I will leave you to arrange the certificate for Edward EVANS/Mary HAMER.
Perhaps you will let me know the result if/when this requires to be
followed. There was a Rose Villa in Vaynor, Newtown. Between Canal Basin
and Dyssert Terrace Llanllwchaiarn there was a Rose Cottage; this is where
Edward SMITH the grocer lived in 1891. Rose Cottages (Nos. 1 & 2) are on
Llanfair Road; there is a plaque on Rose Cottages in Llanfair Road. I can
check to see if the Rose Cottage near Dyssert Terrace still exists if you
wish.

Re: TROW of Castle Caereinion, Montgomeryshire
Dear Polly
In the 1891 census, there is only one Alice TROW (no second forename is
included). She was a domestic servant at 14 Berriew Street, Welshpool, to
a family of DAVIES and ROBERTSON; she was the only servant in a household
of twelve. She was aged 20 and born in Welshpool.

Re: John Jones (1705-1787) of Esgair Evan, Llanbryn-Mair
Dear Carl Boyer in Santa Clarita, California
I see your long Welsh ancestry from Mont. Colls. volumes 17 and 22. I
have it noted that Mary married Randel EVANS and that Ann married Rev.
Robert PARRY, vicar of Eglwys Fach. Have I got this wrong? There is no
burial of a Jane JONES in Llanbryn-Mair that I can see between 1728 and
1737 which makes a second marriage of John JONES problematical. This is
compounded by the appearance after 1737 of children of John and Jane JONES
of the township of Rhiwsaeson. The father was probably John JONES of
Borthllwyd.
