Hi to all,
After reading the Montgomery Quarter Sessions of around 1800, I came across
a notation about Ann GRIFFITHS, wife of William GRIFFITHS who was found
guilty of a felony and sentenced to be taken to the market square at Pool,
stripped from the waist upwards and publicly whipped.
Then in a week and a half's time she was taken to the market square in
Montgomery and the same sentence carried out, after which she was
discharged.
My question is this : Why was she taken to both Pool and Montgomery to be
whipped, were these the two major towns in the area?
All the best from
Trevor Griffiths in Bunbury, West Australia.
