A marriage announcement reads :
Hudson - Goodwin
On the 17th of January, 1884, at St. David's
Church, Newtown, by the Rev. J. Williams,
Mr. William Hudson of Shrewsbury,
to Sallie, eldest daughter of Robert Goodwin,
Newtown.
The 1881 Census has Robert Goodwin, aged 55 and married, a draper
employing 2 men and 1 boy at Broad Street, Newtown. The son of David Goodwin
and his wife Anne, he was born in 1826 at Aberhafesp, Montgomery.
Mary Goodwin, his wife, aged 50, was born in Gwernbuarth, Montgomery.
Their eldest daughtrer Sarah A.P.Goodwin was born in 1861 in
Newtown.
Will she be the Sallie who married in 1884. Would the initial P refer to
Pryce ?
Also was her mother Mary Goodwin a Pryce ?
The Goodwins had two more daughters and three sons.
If anyone has more information, I'd be very grateful.
For ages I was mistaken in supposing that William Hudson had married a Pryce.
Thanks - Tony Russell
