Thank you Jo,

I am sorry re the email bounce, it must be my PC memory being too low now,
like me? There is a Sarah Cleaton and others buried at Mochdre, Newtown, but
my GGF and family were at Dolfor and Trefeglwys, 1881/1841, and also at
Llanidloes in 1904. The name was also there in 1573 in local records, perhaps
from Derbyshire with others so listed.

I am still seeking a link with the large Edmund Cleaton family(1881), there
in the 1700-1800 times, with the Glyn woollen factory, etc, with their FT in
the Llanidloes book by ER Morris. The name was also in Llangurig and
Llandinam, and St Harmon, and is still in Salop and Herefordshire, etc. All
those in Rads are my family, ex MGY.

Cleaton as a middle name occurs in Rhayader too, with M.Cleaton Powell, and
one other, and also as a first name in places. It is linked to Clayton, from
the Normans in 1066 they say.

Many thanks,

Dennis Cleaton, Rads, Powys
