Thanks David,
I am an MGS member and of PFHS, I have the Mochdre All Saints Church MI's by
PFHS only and there are some Cleatons in that, and may link to me in some way
yet
I am trying to find a link with Edmund Cleaton of the Glyn factory,
Llanidloes in 1881, when he died there. My father was born close by at Cribyn cottages
in 1904, and my gf was an estate foreman at Llanidloes in 1901 (as John
CLAYTON!), perhaps in Edmund's business? GGF John W Cleaton was living at Glascoed,
Dolfor, Newtown in 1881, and was born at Llanwnog, his parents lived at Tan
House Trefeglwys in 1841. It is all a mystery to me really.
I have also just linked up with a young lady in Wilts who is of the
Cleaton-Roberts family of Llanidloes, part of Edmunds family in the Cleaton FT in the
Llanidloes Town and Parish book by ER Morris from there. That is my story re
Cleaton's so far. Any new ideas are most welcomed. I have only been back in
Wales in recent times after 40 odd years away. I am also working on the Cleatons
in Herefordshire and Salop, who link to Lancs later, and to MGY perhaps??
Best wishes to all,
Dennis Cleaton, Rads, Powys.
