Hello all,

The joint co-ordinators of the project to place the details of the index books maintained by local registrars on to the North Wales BMD website have advised me that they have added the following during the last few days.

Births - Machynlleth subdistrict
1837 - 1908
(7980 entries)

The Machynlleth sub-district included the parishes of Machynlleth, Llanwrin and Penegoes, plus the township of Ysgubor y Coed from the adjacent Cardiganshire parish of Llanfihangel Genau'r-Glyn [this township was removed from this sub-district in 1904].

Many thanks to the volunteers from Montgomeryshire
Genealogical Society who have assisted me in the photocopying, transcribing and checking of these births indexes.

Work is continuing on the other sub-districts within Montgomeryshire, concentrating on births in the first instance.
